Mobile Marketing. This is the term we have been using for over a decade now and we use it for many aspects of digital marketing today.
What is mobile marketing? Mobile Marketing is the act of engaging a consumer on their mobile device, whether it be a phone, a tablet or even on a website being displayed on a mobile device. The days of consumers looking any other place than Google or Facebook or some other digital method is over. Think about the last time you need a car repair, or an HVAC or Plumbing company. Did you rummage through your desk drawers or goto the old yellow pages? Probably not. Why not? because those ways are outdated, slow and just do not serve the needs of the general public any longer,
What does serve the need of the consumer in 2018?
Mobile Marketing listings. What is a mobile marketing listing? Well, think of the last time you searched for anything online. The listings that came up wer business listings that have changed their ways and engage the mobile consumer and more importantly give that consumer the information or service or product they are looking for.
When they visit in the mobile device, which is sometimes as high as 100% of the time for some companies and industries, the way you display your data to them is called mobile marketing. The way you try and capture an email or a mobile number for some sort of information or offer is called mobile marketing. If you engage in retargeting, then displaying ads on the other mobile apps and sites is called mobile marketing.
So, Mobile marketing is a very wide ranging term, however it is important for every business today to make sure their website is responsive, has a SSL certificate and you are getting a chance at collecting consumer information so that you can continue to market to them.
This is the basic definition of mobile marketing. Please check out our other blogs, our SMS software, our Mobile Coupons and our Local Beacon Marketing Solutions to learn even more about the mobile marketing opportunities.
Proximity and beacon marketing is tying the online to brick and mortar
Bluetooth low-energy beacons have been getting a lot of traction over the last few years, and enjoyed particular attention from retailers, giving a new jolt to the development and spread of proximity marketing. If you haven’t encountered the term before, they are transmitters that broadcast their signal to nearby mobile devices and are capable of interacting with them when in close proximity. And judging by the numbers in which they are produced and installed, they are going to become a mainstay of any retail store over the next couple of years – which means that if you haven’t yet jumped on the bandwagon, it is perfect time to do so. Here are some good reasons to do this:
Mobile operators are adding more marketing capabilities to native messaging services
Mobile texting never quite made it into the marketer toolkit, but some online sellers are re-examining SMS as a more cost-effective way to engage known customers than advertising.
Causes, convenience and calls to action are helping brands successfully court the youngest demographic, writes Oded Edelman of Signet Jewelers.

The former 'it' generation is getting older. Millennials' purchasing power is on the verge of being surpassed by the next generation of consumer: Generation Z. Forward-thinking retailers are starting to heed the digital preferences and consumer expectations of this burgeoning market.
Unlike millennials who grew up with technology as more of a convenience than a necessity, Gen Z sees it as an integral part of their daily lives. In fact, they cannot remember a time before the Internet. They anticipate a shopping experience that leverages technology in new and innovative ways, yet still provides the reassurance of being able to interact with a real, live human being.

Word of mouth or referral marketing is the business equivalent of a free lunch. Sure it’s nice when it comes your way and you appreciate it, but do you really want to rely on it to feed your family?
By being solely reliant on word of mouth, you’re putting the fate of your business in the hands of others – hoping they both like you and remember you often enough to regularly send new business your way. This is an extremely dangerous path to be on. If it’s similar to what you do in your business, now’s the time to start building a much more robust marketing system.

Social Media7 Statistics About Facebook Users That Reveal Why It's Such A Powerful Marketing Platform
Who's on Facebook? The short answer, of course, is everyone. And that's why every company and brand needs to seriously consider a major presence on the platform, as well as a Facebook-specific content strategy.
But digging into the data reveals more specific and compelling reasons why marketers should be active on Facebook, such as the fact that despite recent news coverage about how Facebook is getting older, it's still strongest in the young adult age bracket so precious to many marketers.
In a new report from BI Intelligence, we break down the demographics of Facebook and show why it's such a powerful platform for companies, brands, and products. Facebook's surprisingly strong statistics in terms of gender breakdown, income levels, and age diversity makes it the obvious go-to marketing platform. Our report also spotlights similar statistics for all the main social networks, but Facebook's numbers are perhaps the most compelling.
Here are seven of our surprising findings on Facebook:

Smartphones have become an essential part of everyday life; from texting and email to social media, Americans rely heavily on their mobile devices. If your mobile phone was taken away, how long could you survive without it?
The answer may surprise you: nearly half (47 percent) of U.S. consumers polled say they could not go more than one day without their smartphone, according to the inaugural Bank of America Trends in Consumer Mobility Report. An overwhelming majority (85 percent) say they check their phones at least a few times a day, while more than one-third (35 percent) admit to constantly checking their mobile device.
The survey, which explored mobile trends and banking behaviors among adults across the country, found the need for constant connectivity also extends to banking. Of those respondents who said they use their phones for mobile banking, almost one-third (31 percent) say they log on at least once a day, and more than four out of five (82 percent) access their accounts at least once a week or more.
The report revealed further interesting insights into consumer mobile banking behaviors and preferences, including:
* Mobile banking is on the rise. More than half (62 percent) of respondents have at least tried mobile banking, while an overwhelming majority (90 percent) are using online banking. When using their bank’s mobile app, U.S. consumers most commonly check their balance, transfer funds between accounts and pay bills.
* Sophisticated banking transactions becoming more prevalent on mobile devices. Consumers are also using their smartphones for more complex transactions, including mobile check deposit. Nearly six in 10 (58 percent) respondents have used mobile check deposit, and 38 percent use it frequently. “Our customers appreciate the convenience of being able to complete their deposit anytime, anywhere and are depositing an average of 170 thousand checks via mobile device every day,” says Marc Warshawsky, mobile solutions executive at Bank of America.
* Consumers prefer a mix of banking options. Mobile and online banking are becoming more widely used, but visits to bank branches are still common. The survey found that 84 percent of respondents have visited a bank branch within the past six months. Most commonly, Americans make a trip to the bank to make a deposit, withdraw funds and speak with a banking associate. However, just 23 percent of respondents say they complete the majority of their banking transactions at a branch. Nearly half (47 percent) report turning to mobile or online banking as their preferred method.
* Consumers comfortable with added security measures. In the next two years, 60 percent of consumers say they would be comfortable with a fingerprint scan/swipe security feature to gain access to their mobile banking app. Nearly one-third expressed comfort with retina scans (32 percent) and voice recognition (33 percent).
